Some time ago, passing car on the street 5 October S. Finally, last March the weather improved and there shifted me to those facilities for the photo shoot. When I got there I was surprised by the existence of a security at the main entrance !Requested access to view and photograph the warehouses and working equipment but the entrance was politely refused me once the site is under police surveillance, due to the fact that there was a crime connected to the theft of copper and iron that still existed in those unit. Not wanting to come empty-handed tried to make the photo report from the outside.
History
A NOVINCO, was a great company of building materials, particularly in the manufacture of fiber cement panels and plastics manufacturing to the covers of industrial buildings, and began its activity in the year 1945. Its production stopped in May 2009, due to insolvency proceedings.
The Municipality of Matosinhos recently admitted being interested in this land for the purpose of installation of an industrial park. Despite this intention, land have been purchased by an investor but it is not known what type of building you want to do at that location. Personally I think, for economic reasons, will be a place for the construction of residential property, let's wait…
Another problem has daily occupied the minds of the residents who live near these facilities, is that the existence of large quantities of hazardous asbestos-cement plates, as has been proved, to public health. According to information collected, the new owner will soon promote their removal and cleaning of space.
It remains to add that the NOVINCO later established itself in Leca do Balio, Matosinhos, and again, has an ongoing insolvency proceedings.
