As the Grand Hotel, Hotel Boavista originates in building a Chalet – Chalet Pinheiro, name of their owner, Colonel Pine – and built in 1917, but in 1923, after its acquisition by Water Society Curia, suffers works improvements and expansion in order to transform into Hotel.
Author is unconfirmed Francisco Leandro Cardoso (1862-1943), Graduate school of Fine Arts and the Port during 18 Esteve years linked to works in Bar. In building the two phases of construction harmonize perfectly, among which is a semi-circular porch on one side and on the opposite facade a cylindrical tower that gives the building a distinctive and elegant look.(Cristina Simon, 1997).
The streets leading to the hotel today Boavista not always existed, new roads, conflicts arose between the people of the Forest and Water Society Curia (Rui Godinho, 1926). Initially access was done via a staircase, ligava that the street of the Cedars Hotel. Upon completion of the work to adapt the hotel is that the access roads were made.

Passei férias no Hotel Boavista, quando era miúdo. Saudades do gongo que chamava para as refeições e das torradas ao pequeno almoço.

Tenho informação de que no Hotel do Parque, também na Curia, ainda existe o gongo (apparently, o último do género) exposto.
Já não é usado como antigamente mas pode ser visto.
