This paper mill is known for the paper mill or paper mill Boque Serpins Widow Macieira & Children.
According to the present in a metal panel of the access gates to this factory, was founded in 1804.

Building dated from XIX century, divided into several sectors, namely, home of scale, stores, the carpentry, the locksmith, casting, the boiler house, the weir, the settling tank and the factory building. The latter houses machinery of enormous interest to industrial archeology.

During our visit, we were not able to visit the entire complex, Due to various factors: Lack of light, access prevented by vegetation that grows wild and the concern that two inhabitants “keep” complex, which once must have been part of the factory staff and workers today are what remains of those times.

The factory was acquired by the present owner, Widow Macieira & Children in the early 70 do séc. XIX, justifying the previous owner (Sr. José Joaquim de Paula) that face the poor condition of the factory had no access to the desired profitability. Already with the new owners that gave the 2nd phase of construction, with the construction of new buildings and introduction of new mechanisms, in particular a machine for manufacturing a continuous paper, the first operation in Portugal.
